Our Ethos: Dentistry That Honours the Whole Person

The name ndu comes from a word meaning life. We chose it deliberately. Every treatment decision should support life and health, not merely address a surface problem.

Why did we bring dentistry and functional medicine together?

The separation of oral health from systemic health is one of modern medicine's most persistent blind spots. Research has consistently linked periodontal disease to cardiovascular conditions, metabolic dysfunction, and inflammatory states throughout the body. Heavy metals used in older dental materials can, in susceptible individuals, contribute to toxic burden. A poorly treated root canal or an unaddressed cavitation in the jawbone may create a chronic focus of infection or immune activation that affects energy, cognition, and mood.

At ndu Clinic, we do not simply acknowledge this research. We build it into our clinical practice. When a patient comes to us, we consider their dental history alongside their health history. We ask about energy levels, gut health, sleep, and nutrition. We look at the mouth as a window into the body.

Our Core Values

Biocompatibility First

We use materials that the body is most likely to tolerate well. We prefer ceramic and zirconia over metals. We do not place mercury-containing amalgam fillings. Where existing amalgam needs to be removed, we follow the SMART protocol to protect patients, staff, and the environment.

Minimally Invasive Care

We favour approaches that preserve healthy tissue wherever possible. Our YSGG laser periodontal therapy treats infected tissue with precision, without the need for incisions or sutures in many cases.

Informed Patients

We believe you should understand exactly what is being proposed and why. Our consultations are never rushed. We explain options, trade-offs, and what to expect. You make the decisions; we provide the expertise.

Integrated Thinking

Dental problems rarely exist in isolation. We work closely within our own team and are happy to liaise with other practitioners involved in your care.

Continuous Learning

Biological dentistry and functional medicine are evolving fields. Our team stays current with the latest evidence and techniques so that our patients benefit from the best available knowledge.

What can you expect as a patient?

Your first visit begins with a thorough consultation. We listen. We ask questions that might surprise you: whether you feel fatigued, whether you have noticed changes in your digestion, or whether you have a history of chronic infections. This is not routine small talk; it is part of understanding you as a whole person.

We then carry out a clinical assessment, which may include digital radiography, intraoral imaging, and, where appropriate, additional diagnostic tests. From this, we build a picture and a plan. We present that plan clearly, explain the rationale, and discuss timing and priorities with you.

Treatment at ndu Clinic is delivered in a calm, considered environment. We are located at 22 Harley Street, a quiet street a short walk from Regent's Park.
